Review

Vroooooom. Buy a Porsche P9521 (P`9521) luxury mobile phone to go with your Porsche luggage, Porsche lighter and Porsche pants. Made from a solid block of aluminium, the chunky square-edged Porsche phone can be bought for a measly £750.

Design

The P`9521 was built by Sagem. You can rotate the screen 180 degrees and close the flip, so that the large Active-matrix OLED (battery saving) screen is on the outside of the phone.

Build quality is good - the Porsche phone housing is milled from a single solid aluminium block. The dark mineral glass screen is scratch resistant. Flip the front open to reveal the keypad. Big black keys.

Front: 65k colour, 1.15-inch screen. Open up to reveal keypad, fingerprint sensor.

Memory card slot: Beneath the battery, so not hot-swappable.

3.2 MP Camera: Auto-focus, dual-LED flash, 6x zoom, video capture. Quality? No idea. We didn't test the camera. Not as good as the 3.2 MP cameras offered by the main manufacturers. It's a Sagem phone.

To activate the camera, you must twist the screen 180 degrees, then close the phone again. All the twisting might get annoying after a while. You can then use the side keys (camera key and zoom/volume keys) to operate the camera.

Camera settings include: flash, photo format, photo quality, focus, saving location, timer, click sound, modes, effects and exposure. There's also an album to view your files.

Fingerprint sensor: A small horizontal fingerprint-sensor sits beneath the display. You can use this instead of PIN code access. You can also use the sensor as a touch-sensitive pad - navigate menus and set shortcuts to certain functions.

When you first turn the phone on, you "enroll your fingerprint". Swipe your finger over the sensor several times. Also enter a backup code - should the sensor error or you lend the Porsche phone to someone else.

Auto Orientation: Turn the phone sideways, and the motion sensor changes the screen orientation to landscape view. Magic.

Media Player: Playlists, music controls, visual effects, special FX sounds (3D, reverb, chorus, flanger), equalizer, sound effects, library, tags, repeat, play options, view mode. Sort music files by theme, artist, most played, downloads.

Opera Mini Web browser: Good browser. Shame there's no 3G, only EDGE.

Battery life: 3.5 hours - not very good.

Tri-band: Tri-band only. Quad-band rules.

Summary

Porsche - poser phone. You can buy a Porche phone online or offline at a few stores such as Porsche design shops. Porsche phone (750 pounds) + pants (90 pounds) + 1 doughnut and a coffee (6 pounds) = a great afternoon out down New Bond Street, London. Really.
